Setting the Default Automation Profile

Prev Next

beta-badge.svg
The default Automation Profile applies to the clusters that no policy or direct assignment covers, within the cluster access of the profile's owner.

Automation is opt-in. Automation is disabled by default and enabled by you. When you enable automation, RealTheory can make configuration changes within the scope and parameters of your automation profiles, including any default values that you have not changed. See Automation Opt-In Requirements Explained.

Prerequisites

Procedure

Important: Setting a default profile lets automation change workloads in the clusters that the default covers, and makes you the owner of the profile if you are not the owner already. As the new owner, your cluster access applies, so the clusters that the profile affects might change. See Automation Profiles Explained.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Automation > Workloads > Automation Profiles.
  2. In the row for the profile that you want as the default, click SET AS DEFAULT.
  3. Review the confirmation, and then click Set as default.

Note: If a default profile already exists, the new default replaces the existing default.

Note: To remove the default profile, click REMOVE AS DEFAULT in the profile's row, or delete the default policy in the Automation Policies view. The profile remains but is no longer the default, and automation stops changing workloads in the clusters that only the default covered.
