Rolling Back an Automation Change

A rollback restores the values that existed before a change that automation applied to a workload. Use a rollback when an automated change does not have the effect that you want, for example when your team set a workload's values on purpose and wants to keep those values. You choose which of the workload's containers to restore.

Automation is opt-in. Automation is disabled by default and enabled by you. When you enable automation, RealTheory can make configuration changes within the scope and parameters of your automation profiles, including any default values that you have not changed. See Automation Opt-In Requirements Explained.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Automation > Workloads > Automation History.

  2. In the row for the workload, click View Timeline.

  3. Find the card for the change that you want to undo. To undo only the latest change, use the card marked Current.

Important: Rolling back from an earlier card reverses the change on that card and every later change.

  4. Click Roll back to this point on that card.

  5. Select the containers that you want to roll back.

  6. Click Roll back.

  7. (Optional) In the comment field, type the reason for the rollback.

  8. (Optional) To keep automation from changing the workload again, select Exclude this workload from future automation.

Note: Without the exclusion, if the workload is still not fully optimized, RealTheory might recommend the same change again, and automation applies that recommendation when the guardrails allow.

  9. Click Confirm rollback.

RealTheory restores each selected container to the values that existed before the change on that card.
