When you enable automation, RealTheory can make configuration changes within the scope and parameters of your automation profiles, including any default values that you have not changed. See [Automation Opt-In Requirements Explained](https://resources.realtheory.io/docs/automation-opt-in-requirements-explained). ## Prerequisites - Review [Automation Opt-In Requirements Explained](https://resources.realtheory.io/docs/automation-opt-in-requirements-explained). ## Procedure To make a cluster automation-ready, follow [Installing RealTheory in a Cluster](https://resources.realtheory.io/docs/installing-realtheory-in-a-cluster), and turn on **Make this cluster automation-ready** before you generate the YAML. **Important:** To make a cluster that RealTheory already monitors automation-ready, generate the YAML again with **Make this cluster automation-ready** turned on, and apply the YAML to the same cluster. Applying the YAML updates all of the cluster's settings, not only automation-ready, so set the other options to the values that you want the cluster to keep. **See Also** [Automation Explained](https://resources.realtheory.io/docs/automation-explained) [Automation Opt-In Requirements Explained](https://resources.realtheory.io/docs/automation-opt-in-requirements-explained) [Installing RealTheory in a Cluster](https://resources.realtheory.io/docs/installing-realtheory-in-a-cluster) [Creating an Automation Profile](https://resources.realtheory.io/docs/creating-an-automation-profile)
