Creating Your RealTheory Account

If you are new to RealTheory, the first thing you must do is create a RealTheory account. RealTheory will use the details you provide to create the account; you will, by default, be a system administrator.

What is a RealTheory account?

A RealTheory account is a container for your Kubernetes clusters and resources. An account can contain multiple users and is typically modeled around an organization or business. Your RealTheory account provides a natural boundary for billing, user accounts, and managed Kubernetes resources.

When you create a RealTheory account, you begin with one sign-in identity that has complete access to all resources in the account. This identity has system administrator privileges and is associated with the email address and password used to create the account. Other Users can be added to the account after the initial setup is complete and each User can be assigned the appropriate privileges depending on their role in the system.

Prerequisites

To create a RealTheory account, you need the following information:

• An email address: The email address is used as your sign-in name. You must be able to receive email messages that are sent to this address. Before you can finish creating your RealTheory account, you will have to verify that you have access to email sent to this address.
  Note: Valid email addresses can contain alpha-numeric characters, and the period(.), percent (%), plus (+), hyphen (-) and underscore (_) special characters.
• An account name: The account name is used by all Users to sign in to your RealTheory account. It typically reflects the name of your business or organization.

Procedure

1. In your browser, open the RealTheory portal.

2. Click Create New Account.

3. Provide the following information:

   • First Name

   • Last Name

   • Work Email
     Note: Email addresses must contain only alpha-numeric characters; email addresses that contain special characters are not supported.

4. Click Create Account.
   This will send a validation link to the email address you provided.

5. Check for an email from RealTheory with the subject line <your first name>, please confirm your account.

6. In the email body, click Confirm Your Email.

7. After your email address has been verified, provide the following information:

   • Account Name

   • Company

   • Password; your password must meet the following conditions:

     • It must have a minimum of 5 characters

     • It must have a maximum 32 Characters

     • It must contain at least one letter

     • It must contain at least one number

8. Click Finish Creating Account.
   RealTheory will finish setting up your new account.

9. Click Add RealTheory to your Cluster to access the Settings > Agent > Deployment view in the RealTheory console where you can create the RealTheory deployment for your cluster.
