Rate card policies enable an organization to automatically apply the appropriate non-default rate card to each cluster dynamically and at scale. This helps reduce the need for extensive oversight and management while providing accurate cost analysis for your Kubernetes environment.Rate card policies allow an organization to automatically apply the appropriate non-default rate card to each cluster dynamically and at scale to help minimize the need for excessive oversight and management while delivering an accurate cost analysis for your Kubernetes environment.
Prerequisite
To manage rate card policies, you must have one of the following roles assigned to your user account:
- sys_admin
- rate_card_admin
Procedure
As a user with the sys_admin or rate_card_admin role, navigate to Settings > Cost > Rate Card Policies.
If no rate card policies have been previously configured, you will see only the default rate card policy, which will reflect which rate card is currently set as the default.
If rate card policies have been previously configured, each policy will be listed above the default rate card in the order that they are processed and applied.
If a rate card policy that applies the appropriate rate card to the appropriate clusters does not exist, click Add rate card policy.
Provide a unique name for the policy.
Add a description that will help you remember the purpose and scope of the new policy.
Provide the conditions that will determine which clusters this policy applies to; conditions are cluster or node equality-based and set-based label selectors.
To verify that the specified Conditions target the correct clusters, click Evaluate and review the results.
Click Next.
Select the rate card that applies to the clusters identified by the conditions specified in Step 7.
Note: If you do not see the appropriate rate card in the list, click Rate Card view to open the Rate Card view where you can create the rate card you need.
Click Save.
The new policy will be added to the list of policies directly above the Default policy. If this is not the appropriate location, you can drag the new policy to the appropriate location in the list.
Note: The default policy will always be the last policy in the list.
